Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Lifemory QR Memorials
A QR code memorial is a durable QR code installed on a headstone, grave marker, or memorial plaque that links to a digital memorial page. When scanned with a smartphone, it provides access to photos, videos, stories, and other commemorative content about the deceased.
NFC (Near Field Communication) is a short-range wireless technology that allows data transfer by simply tapping your phone to the plaque. Our ceramic plaques feature a built-in NFC chip — in addition to scanning the QR code, visitors can open the digital memorial simply by tapping their phone to the plaque, without needing a camera.
Our QR codes are manufactured using ceramic plaques, specifically designed to withstand outdoor conditions, UV exposure, frost, and humidity for decades. They preserve both their aesthetics and readability over time.
Our ceramic plaques are made to withstand frost, rain and sunlight and come with a 25-year warranty. If the plaque deteriorates because of the weather within 25 years (including fading or a QR code that can no longer be read), we replace it free of charge with the same QR code. Breakage from impact, vandalism and theft are not covered; in those cases we can make a new plaque with the same QR code — contact us for details. Full terms are on the Warranty page.
Yes, within the European Union. Delivery is free to Romania and to every other EU member state; we do not deliver outside the EU. The plaque is made within 3–5 business days; estimated transit is 1–3 business days to Romania and 3–7 business days to other EU countries.
It means that the digital memorial page linked to your QR plaque will remain active and accessible in the long term, so that family and future generations can revisit those memories without interruption.
We know how important it is for families to feel that their loved one's story will not be forgotten. That is why we treat each memorial with care and empathy, making sure the connection between past and future remains alive forever.
The basic memorial page is free. The ceramic QR code plaque together with the lifetime memorial page is paid once — no subscription and no recurring costs. The current price is shown on the product page.
The paid memorial page stays active for life: you pay once, with no subscription and no recurring costs. Separately, the ceramic plaque has a 25-year commercial warranty against weather damage (breakage from impact and vandalism are not covered), in addition to the 2-year legal guarantee of conformity. The free memorial page includes the basic features: one photo, the biography, a timeline with text entries and a link to share.
Theft is not covered by the warranty. The digital memorial is not affected — only the physical plaque needs replacing, and we can make a new one with the same QR code. Contact us on WhatsApp at +40 779 243 541 or at support@lifemory.eu for details.
The plaque is fixed with a special outdoor adhesive — no drilling required. The surface should be clean, dry and flat: stone, marble, granite or concrete. Any family member or a stonemason can mount it; we do not offer an installation service.
Scanning the QR code requires only a smartphone camera — no internet needed to scan. However, the digital memorial page opens in a browser and requires an internet connection to load photos and content, just like any website.
Yes! We have dedicated memorial options for pets — dogs, cats, and any beloved animal companion. The same ceramic QR plaque and full digital memorial can preserve photos, biography, and precious memories of your furry family member.
Log in to your Lifemory account, open the memorial, and click Edit. You can add or remove photos, update the biography, change the visual theme, add timeline events, and moderate tributes — all in real time, from any device.
By default, the memorial is public — anyone who scans the QR code or has the link can view it. You can switch to private mode, which requires a password to access. You can also invite specific family members as contributors who can edit the page together with you.
